Curriculum, structure, and delivery of educational services like academic tutoring and test prep tend to vary widely. So why is there so little diversity in the way clients pay for these services? Amy and Mike invited educator Dave Crystal to discuss educational services pricing models.

Dave Crystal is a cum laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania where he received Honors in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. The author of one book and many published essays and op-ed pieces, he was a columnist for the Daily Pennsylvanian and a contributor to Penn’s prestigious journal of political science, Sound Politicks.

Dave founded Crystal Clear Tutors in 2008 when he noticed that there was a tremendous void in the test-prep industry in south Florida. Since then, Crystal Clear Tutors has helped get over 400 students into top-100 universities and over 250 students into top-40 universities, including all Ivy League schools. Dave’s prior professional history includes being an investment manager research analyst for Merrill Lynch; a licensed financial advisor; and the President of 3rd Channel, an e-commerce solutions company. He has also lectured at many fine institutions including Books & Books, NYU, and Penn. Dave also has an MBA from the University of Miami. Additionally, he has been the subject of articles in Front Page Magazine, The Jerusalem Post, Philadelphia Weekly, The Forward, The Miami Herald and The Jewish Exponent.
