What are the Pros and Cons of the May SAT?

The month of May seems pleasant in terms of weather, but high schoolers find this time of year anything but relaxing. Considering how many competing commitments are on the calendar, is May a good time to take the SAT?

PROS
Juniors have completed almost all of Algebra 2 by this point
Might be the last shot at the SAT before finals or summer

CONS
Students have to contend with APs, finals, spring sports, prom, and other conflicts

RECOMMENDED FOR
11th graders who haven’t yet reached their SAT goals
11th graders who aren’t taking APs

May is not the best time of year to sit for the SAT but this test date certainly beats June as an opportunity to finish testing before the end of junior year.
