What are the Pros and Cons of the March SAT?

No gap between test dates runs longer than the one between the December and the March SAT. Some test takers may experience a loss of momentum during this break, while others appreciate the extra time to study. Is March a good time to take the SAT?

PROS
Doesn’t conflict with many major academic or extracurricular events
Offers an excellent opportunity to finish testing before spring truly arrives

CONS
Winter athletes and performers may not have time to sufficiently prepare

RECOMMENDED FOR
11th graders who have time to prep or who didn’t reach their targets in December
11th graders looking at a very busy spring

March has become one of the more popular SAT dates for good reason. Considering how hectic May and June can be for juniors, the March SAT represents the last, best chance to ace the test before summer arrives.
